Anyway, equipping a rifle on a scout, like a scrambler rifle, is "wrong." Use knives and other sidearms, or a shotgun. Well, anything other than "easy mode" rifles. But if you insist upon a scramber rifle (non-assault), then you need dampeners/range amp (to keep off peoples radar and see farther to complement your weapons range), as well as two complex shield extenders (in-case the people you are shooting at get to shoot back) and a damage mod (Scrambler rifle is like an alpha weapon, you want to maximise damage, especially vs. armour). At least, that is what I would use.[/quote]
I didn't know anything about Alpha Weapons, its nice to know.
I used a Militia ScR on a battle and it went really nice, so i got it to level 3 and i use the advanced version. it wasnt that good. But now that you got it level 3 too i may tell you a nice Suit Fitting, hope you like it.
Scout C1-Series
3 Advanced Precision Enhancer 2 Enhanced Range Amplifier
Advanced SrC Masec
Flux
RE Cloak.
And my gameplay is based on seeing people from far away, charge the ScR and shot them to death. Now that i know about the Alpha Weapons i would change the 3 Precision for 3 Damage Mods. The problem is that you wont see other scouts and they are the easiest to kill. |

Leanna Boghin wrote:To be completely honest OP i would fore go the cloak all together. Its an unecessary piece of gear only really utilized by unexperienced scouts. You can do well enough as a scout without the cloak just replace them with a good dampener or two (depending on the tier) and you wont be seen unless you are running around like a fool right in front of the enemy. Use tactics and strategy and the scout suit becomes a great tool on the battle field without the use of a cloak. And by removing the cloak from the equation your making more room for other things you may want on the suit (since the cloak uses up alot of PG and CPU)
Hi, I'm somehow new to scout and i understand what you say about cloak but maybe am not good in games that I'm always seen before i can get a shoot without the cloak just because people has manage to cover themselves from them. They are always looking, giving turns and stuff but while i wear the cloak i can stay quiet and be somehow invisible.
I'm not saying it's not doable, i have seen people doing it, its just not for me, i'm so noob to fps but i enjoy playing like this or with my Logistic |

But, in my opinion, if you rely on crutches available in this game you wont ever get any better. Look at your radar when you get close to enemies and you will see that it tells you which direction they are face giving you the opportunity to attack from behind. You gotta be quick and fast as well as a scout so decking out your suit with armor plates (ferroscale is ok) is a bad idea simply because they slow you down. I know people like to brick tank their scouts i just find it to be more of a crutch. I can literally go 20/0 in a scout suit without a cloak in a basic scout suit (dragonfly is awesome) fit thats specially made to my play style. Thats another thing getting advice from people on how you should fit your suit is fine but dont rely on just that alone. You need to be able to decern for yourself what works best for you then put that particular thing into play to better your character. Test out different fits and see what works best. And dont be afraid to spec into different skills that you want to try out. You may not get those skills back but i can guarantee that at some point in your dust career you will use those skills for at least one thing or another later on.
I have made many characters and i like the scout because it make an FPS a little bit different to what i was used to. (i used to play Halo 1) and as you say, play what works for me and for now i'm very happy playing caldari scout and cloack, i still being seen even with that but much less than without it. I'm practicing for better but i can hardly get more kills than deaths. |
